The Globe and Mail Report on Business Magazine recognized Fortis for the fifth consecutive year on their “Women Lead Here” list.
Last month, executives and emerging leaders from Fortis companies gathered for the 2024 Women in Executive Leadership (WEL) event. The empowering gathering brought together diverse voices from all business areas to share stories, experiences, and wisdom while strategizing on key issues.
WEL is specifically designed to support the growth and development of women across the Fortis group. Since its inception in 2016, over 500 women leaders have participated in the program.
“WEL is about fostering connections, creating engagement, opportunities, and inspiration,” said Jocelyn Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “We have so much talent across Fortis, and a lot to celebrate as relates to our progress on the advancement of women and other under-represented groups, but our work is not done.”
Gender equality remains integral to Fortis’ broader goal of creating inclusive workplaces where employees are respected and have a true sense of belonging.
- 82% of Fortis utilities are led by a woman as CEO or Board Chair.
- 38% of executives at Fortis companies are women.
- 50% of executives at Fortis Inc. are women.
